NOC and Island Lutheran Church Partnership Flourishes on HHI

June 4, 2023 By NOC

On June 3, 2023, NOC and Island Lutheran Church held a very successful social event that drew a diverse group of individuals from Island Lutheran Church and the families and communities that NOC serves locally.

The event allowed individuals from both communities to become acquainted and build relationships.  The participants—both children and adults—enjoyed delicious tacos, chips, cookies, fruit salad, and cold beverages that were provided.

Dr. Sharma, Founder & Chair of NOC, gave a brief account of how this partnership has evolved since 2019, developing into an important center for children to participate in NOC’s afterschool and enrichment programs.  It is also an important center for NOC to offer courses and workshops from its health and wellness program, as well as its workforce/community development activities.

Dr Sharma added that NOC is highly indebted to the Church and its members for making their facility available. NOC appreciates that the Church recognizes the importance of this partnership and the services it provides to our neighbors in need. Dr Sharma thanked Flor Mora for her leadership as NOC’s Program Manager. She, together with her team, has made this center successful.

A great day to remember!

Birdies for Charity — Be a Caring Neighbor

March 18, 2023 By NOC

Be a caring neighbor — participate in Birdies for Charity

and make a difference in the lives of children.

Neighborhood Outreach Connection (NOC) marks its 16th year of being able to provide scholarships to children who attend its after school academic and enrichment programs in its 6 learning centers in Beaufort County, SC. During this period, NOC has served more than 3,500 high risk students in Beaufort County.

Over the past 16 years, these scholarships have allowed many high-risk children from underserved neighborhoods to excel academically in local public schools and has helped them build personal character and self-esteem.

NOC will continue to work tirelessly to help children  improve reading and math skills, perform at grade level, and graduate on time.

Please designate NOC, as your registered charity of choice by April 16th. Your generous contribution will make a big difference in the lives of children attending NOC.

How you can help these children via Birdies for Charity:

NOC will receive 100% of the money raised in your name through Birdies for Charity, plus an additional 20% as a gift from the Heritage Classic Foundation.

  • Make an online pledge at the Heritage Classic Foundation website (below) before

  • April 16 and designate your donation to Neighborhood Outreach Connection.

  • Flat donations of $25 or more may be made by credit card or check. If you choose to make a per-birdie donation, the Heritage Classic Foundation will bill you after the tournament for the amount of your commitment.

IF 1,000 BIRDIES ARE MADE DURING 2023 EVENT, THEN PLEDGES WILL LOOK LIKE THIS:

 1 cent pledge = $10.00 total pledge

3 cent pledge = $30.00 total pledge

10 cent pledge = $100.00 total pledge

$1.00 pledge = $1,000 total pledge

If you have not already done so, please pledge now — click below:
