After 10 years, NOC has officially earned GuideStar Platinum Level recognition. GuideStar, a national information service, reports on more than 2.7 million U.S. nonprofit organizations. According to Time Magazine, GuideStar is the country’s “premier nonprofit database.”
NOC believes in full transparency and this GuideStar certification attests to the integrity of our organization. Our vision has and will always be focused on establishing a level playing field within the community so all may enjoy a better quality of life.
To reach this Platinum milestone, NOC had to meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrate that we are an organization focused on measuring our progress and results;
- Give potential funders information they seek;
- Show improvement and results year over year
- Provide a concrete alternative to donors evaluating NOC, using our overhead ratio
Now that the NOC has secured a Platinum Profile on GuideStar, we anticipate more exposure to foundation staff members, dozens of online giving portals, all major U.S.-based, donor-advised funds, some 9 million visitors to guidestar.org each year, and nearly 20 leading community foundations.
